How does Board & Train differ from Private Sessions?
Board & Train Program:
- Duration: 2 to 6 weeks.
- Your dog stays with us, allowing for a deep understanding of their behavior.
- 24/7 learning with training incorporated into downtime.
- Weekly training field trips to various environments.
- Graduation includes teaching you how to maintain the training at home.
Private Sessions:
- One or Two Weekly 1 Hour Classes
- Ideal for owners willing to invest time in training.
- Focus on basic on-leash commands.
Longer process; effectiveness depends on consistency in training homework.
Boarding:
- Boarding available for previous & current clients.
Will my dog miss me during boarding?
While it’s natural to miss your dog, they will be engaged in training, socializing, and having fun. Dogs have a magical way of recognizing their family, and we’ve never seen a dog forget.
What does a Board & Train day look like?
- Structured daily routine with walks, training sessions, and breaks.
- Multiple rounds of training per day, focusing on commands and field trips.
- Varied environments, including parks, stores, and home settings.
- Safety and rest periods to ensure a balanced experience.
Does my dog need to be neutered/spayed for Board & Train?
Intact dogs are welcome, with the only request to avoid bringing a female dog in heat. Safety precautions are in place to create a secure environment for all.
What vaccinations are required for Board & Train?
Current vaccinations against Rabies, Bordetella, Parvovirus, and Distemper are required for your dog’s safety. A fecal float test is also requested to check for parasites.
Why use E-Collars and Prong Collars?
E-Collars:
- Used at low levels for better communication and bonding.
- Effective, humane, and helps with off-leash obedience.
- Ensures safety and reliability in training.
Prong Collars:
- Used properly, it’s a gentle correction tool.
- Communicates with the dog to guide behavior.
- Safer and more effective than traditional collars or harnesses.
Do all dogs receive E-Collar training?
It depends on the dog’s needs. The flexibility of our E-Collars allows for customized training plans. Other training collars are available for on-leash obedience without E-Collar use.
Will my dog be around aggressive dogs during training?
Initially, dogs are introduced to our personal dogs for socialization. Safety measures, including proper training collars, are in place to ensure a secure environment for all.
How can I maintain my dog's training at home after boarding?
Upon graduation, we provide extensive training on using tools and techniques. You become part of our family, and ongoing support, informative videos, and additional training options are available.
Do you offer discounts for multiple dogs?
We don’t offer discounts due to the individualized nature of training. Each dog is trained individually, ensuring a focused and effective approach.
